'86 Rims on a '98 S-10? Problems? 14" and 15"
I'm looking to get a second set of rims for my summer tires so I don't ruin my almost new studded snows from Winter.
The 15" rims currently on the 2WD truck need to come off and I can travel a ways and acquire (4) 14" wheels off of an '86 S-10 but am I wasting my time to travel to get them? Will the 14 inch wheels bolt on fine and might there be an offset issue using the 14 inch wheels from the '86 and putting them onto my '98? Thanks much for any input, ChrisinNH I'm brand new to this board but have been on others and have always appreciated the help, input and insight of the members. -Chris |

i beleive the tire size for your year s10 is supposed to be 205/75/r15... like on my 01. i had a blowout and replaced the back tires with 235/75/r15s, because they were available... they, however, sent a fault to the computer and my MIL, my brake light, and my ABS light all came on... and for the week i drove with the wrong size tires, the brakes were touchy, and the abs sometimes cycled about a half dozen times just because of a bump... my advice to you is to check the sticker on the inside of your drivers door for recomended tire size and adhere to it, or your computer is going to hate you forever... let me know how it works out...
