I've heard that if you remove the balance shaft on the Spec V you can gain a bit more horsepower and torque. Is this true? How much do you actually gain? What are the side effects?

you will gain about 8whp from this mod. side-effects are extra vibration, but i hear it's well worth it. you will also be using 2 more quarts of oil after bs removal.

Re: Balance Shaft removal
the vibrations can only be felt between 3,500 and 4000rpm. Read the latest HIC magazine, they did an article on the spec V BS removal
