hmm

96 Camaro Z28 with K&N intake and flow master vs. 98 Mustang GT 4.6 stock I figure the camaro will beat it by about a car length in a 1/4 mile? what do you all think?

Why compare such a crappy year Mustang, and why stock compared to a modified Camaro when the Camaro was superior while stock??

Um, because it wasn't a good year Mustang??

Lol, just kidding, but seriously, you should know as well as anyone that cars change every year almost, and there are certain years where things are simply not optimized to the standard of years before or after. 1998 isn't an especially crappy year (1996 was), but it wasn't really good either. I do believe the newer design Mustang, the 1999+ body design is a bit lighter and faster than the 1994-1998 design.

Either way, I don't really like the newer Mustangs besides the Cobra and the new 2005 model...
