Re: 2006 rx-7?
hope its actually better looking than the rx-8, i was kinda dissapointed, but i wouldn't see why they would make another 7, because in the past when the made older rx's, wen they made the newer model they stopped with the older one, like changing from rx-3, to rx-4, once the rx-4 starts, the 3 stopped.

Re: 2006 rx-7?
why bother? the RX8 is a fucking brilliant car as it is.
Then again, I suppose you could just make a two door, two seat Rotary powered car that looks like an RX8 with a snail on it, that'd be an RX7

Re: 2006 rx-7?
There are no such plan for a new RX-7. The RX-8 just came out and its been pretty successful. So I don't think mazda would update the car within 2 years. I'm sure the RX-8 will got through generations with body changes and then when they decide, they'll rename the car.

Re: 2006 rx-7?
The RX7 was going to be a platform mate to the RX8...not a replacement for it. And, there absolutely was a RX7 under development (this according to Mazda) it simply ended up on the chopping block. Largely due to issues with the RX8 I suspect as well as the Japanese exodus from the sports car market. One quasi sports car is likely all Mazda feels comfortable with right now.
And, the RX7 is not an "older" model. This isn't a Lincoln Continental number does not designate generation. At times, Mazda has replaced lower numbers with higher ones in the RX lineup, but it is not a theme in the brand. RX7 simply means RX7. |
