im surprised that (considering its a car forum) nobodys talked about sports!! how about the NFL season coming up? what are your favorite teams (pro and college) i wanna talk some football

my bad. guess i havent looked around enough what do you guys think of eli mannings decision to refuse to sign with the chargers? i think it was a bad move on his part. bad for the game, the chargers, and himself.

Football (American rules) is dumb. The same goes for most team sports. What's with all the padding and helmets and whatnot? And why does it seem like anyone in the nfl doesn't live past 55?

Football is dumb. And it's as boring as Nascar to watch. There's like 15 seconds of action, then everybody's in groups again, another 15 seconds of action, and then everybody's back in groups again - and so it continues. Wow, they carry a funny looking ball around a field - yah, that's really fun to watch. It should be called carryball, seeing as how the name "Football" doesn't describe it in anyway, they don't move the ball with their feet, the ball isn't made out of a foot, so why call it football?

I can think of far more boring sports to watch, golf and baseball are prime examples. Anything where people are getting thrown around, pads or not, is exciting to me. I must say though, Rugby looks far more entertaining to me. And you gotta love Hockey.

It has to be 15 seconds, any longer and they would forget what they were doing and the whole game would have to be aborted. It's called having a short attention span.....amongst other things.....

Hey fellas..I gotta say, I play football and I am offended!

Not really, but there is a lot more to football than running around getting hit. And I have no idea why its called football, maybe cause you need a foot (kickoff) to start the game. Thats my best guess. As for the 15 seconds, each play doesnt need to be longer than 15 seconds.

And Boss San: Try playing football with no pads and no helmet. You think not living past 55 is bad? Few would make it past 25.

Well like alot of sports (except Hockey, which is hard because it requires you to iceskate), it's funner to play than it is to watch. However, I do consider baseball funner to watch than football. I like basball, because it's the odd one out.
Hockey, Football, Soccer, all you do is move an object to one end of a field. In baseball, you hit that object into the air, and run in circles.

i thought that it was funny one night when i was watching a fishing program that as the credits were rolling i learned that the fishermen read off of cue cards.

I cant stand watching baseball...maybe thats because I have to watch the Rockies...

honestly i hate watching sports on tv. even the superbowl or world series. but i will watch anything if im there at the stadium.
