Question 94 SSE questions and problems

1) Would I be able to switch the 94 climate control with a 95-99? 2) Does anyone know why my gas meter likes to go up, go down, back and forth a lot while I am driving... lets say im driving, its at a quarter tank, then I stop at a light and it drops down to the next line, and when I drive again it goes back up. 3) How come the gas mileage on my car will go from real good, to real shitty? Any help would be appreciated

The gas gauge condition is normal. All that is happening is the fuel in the tank is shifting, and the float for the gauge is going up and down.

What is your definition of 'real good' and 'real shitty'? What kind of mileage are we talking about?

As for the climate control, I don't really know. All of the bonnevilles from 92-99 are practically the same.

Re: 94 SSE questions and problems

shitty- 200 miles a tank real good 250-375 miles a tank.. I have 185,000k on er, I dunno if thats normal, and for the climate control, the one after 94 you can select the level the air comes out and when to turn on the AC, the one in the 94 and under is all automatic, and I think it sucks.... haha well I shouldnt complain, my last car was a metro

Poor Mileage: All sorts of things can cause varying fuel economy... principally your driving style, city or highway, things like that. Do you notice any difference in how the car runs when you get poor economy?

Climate control: There is a computer behind the dashboard as well as the display/control unit on the center stack. It might get a bit difficult changing those, I really dont know what would have to be done to make it work.

Oil light: Probably just a bad sensor/loose wire somewhere. If the oil level is fine, just ignore it.

I would suggest you get a tune up if you havent done so in a while

Re: 94 SSE questions and problems

well yea I can notice a difference I think... some days it seems like the car requires more gas to get started from a stop, feels like I have to press the pedal more, I did a tuneup a month ago plugs and wires, Ive done the fuel filter and I do oil changes regularly. I think maybe the engines just gettin old. Im gonna keep tryin new things though. If you have any more suggestions thatd be great. I appreciate the help cauz like I said before I used to own a Geo Metro and I love workin on cars, but damn, that thing was so basic it was simple as hell to do any work to it
