fan clutch nut (QUICK QUESTION)
in the process of replacing all the belts and water pump, have really run into a wall... Bentley manual explains it as this:
(170-12) "1. Place a 32 mm wrench on the fan clutch nut. Strike wrench quickly in a clockwise direction (working from the front of the car) to loosen nut. Spin fan off pump." now... what exactly is it saying? is there some trick to it? |

The only trick is that it is a reverse thread. Facing the car, you want to turn the nut to the right (clockwise) to loosen it. Giving it a sharp tap helps loosen it.

Re: fan clutch nut (QUICK QUESTION)
If it just slips, stick a screwdriver between one of the nuts and the shaft, put the wrench on then strike it while holding the screwdriver to keep the pulley from turning.
