Question about "Sway bars, braces, and too much tech!!! "

about: "Important-Sway bars, braces, and too much tech!!!"
So the DC-Sports strut tower bar which Iīve just ordered some days ago are crap??? Did I understand that right and if yes is there any way to correct that??

it's not bad, but it aint the best.

the pivoting attachment points doesnt allow the design to prevent chassis twist to the fullest. Neuspeed's solid designs are much more capable.

other hinged designs are also stronger, like the Spoon bars... plus they're a bit lighter.

the dc bar does have one nice featrue, that you can adjust the bar to tighten the two points together once installed.

i have witnessed a couple of cheaper bars that have full adjustability actually snap at the pivot points before, which is the basis for my dislike of them.

Does a sporty driven daily-driver really need this additional stiffness??
Maybe itīs possible to send it back? The problem is that DC-Sports of germany had to order it from the states. I dunno if they will take it back.

Basically many strut bars are just pretty, for looks, like the DC.
I have one of those pretty bars, and I have never replaced it just because I already wasted 100$ on it. If you can send it back the Neuspeed is functional, as well as the Comptech.

If not well then... You could always weld the pivot points.
It does stiffen the towers (while increasing turbulence) when you are driving straight, when both front towers are being stress by the shocks reacting on a bump at the same time, but when you have the car on three wheels the strut bar is just pivoting on that one side.

Have you welded the pivots of your DC bar?? And if not why? On the other hand Iīm asking myself if Iīll really need a stiffer one because Iīm not driving on tracks or anything like that. Itīs just a sporty driven daily driver. Thatīs all. Iīd guess about 80% (or even more) of the members in here donīt really need a strut tower bar because they arenīt real hardcore racers (including me)! IMO magazines and commercials make us feel like we are real racers but in reality most of us wonīt need all these stuff. But maybe Iīm wrong....

That is one of the most intelligent comments I have heard!!!
That is true, most are not racers, and to be honest, I bet no one will ever mention to you that you have a pivot based strut bar!! It is good enough, if you ever go all race, weld the pivots custom fab one to stiffen yorur front end or just pick up a solid bar.

Thanx!
The guy who has ordered it for me (from the garage of a good friend of mine) called them again today and now I will get the one from Neuspeed. Like Iīve already said I donīt think that Iīll need one but it gives me a better feeling and I donīt want to miss it in my engine bay anymore (itīs looking really nice IMO) ! Does anybody know what the normal price of it is because we forgot to ask about it?!
So the only suspension problem Iīm still having is the camber! But I guess I have to wait till my car is dropped to find out. Thanx for all the responses!

nope not at all... Hed probably be so overwelmed with joy that people are starting to realize that a lot of these products are so overly hyped up by the magazines,etc.. That it turns the import enthusiasts into zombies and makes them think.. "Ill spend all this money on this stuff and now my car is so fast!" when actually youve just spent 1000$ on parts that only hurt you torque curve, but damn it.. You do have 2 more hp.. lol..

Hey Dez.. how close do you think that is to a BDC statement.. lol..
