Installing new cd player. need help

I have a 95 dodge intrepid and i just bought a new cd player for it. i'm having trouble installing it because the wires do not match up. the wires in the car are a different color than they should be. does anybody know what wires go where? I dont want to ruin my new cd player.

You need to follow the wires till you see the original, use the diagram and rewire accordingly. If you don't have a diagram you should be able to find one on the net.

Re: Installing new cd player. need help

buy the pigtails online or at a car stereo dealer. You never know when you'll want to put the original radio back in, or the CD in something else. They're cheap enough, and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to plug one in!

If you want to do it yourself, the pinout for the 2 plugs is embossed in the factory radio top, just not easy to read if it didn't get stamped well.

If you insist on the DIY-chop-the-harness method, I'll send you the schematic thru email.
