Infinity Vs Acura vs Lexus

This is how i would put it

1) Lexus
2) Infiniti
3) Acura

Based On Reliability, Quality Of Product, Performance, Safety and so on

What order would you rank it in?
Consider Past History, future Outlooks and current trends

Also State Your Reasons Of Order

Similar order, only when it comes to performance as of now, the G35 tops any Lexus.

But the new AWD hybrid lexus's coming out are gonna be SICK

As far as reliability and safety i would have to say Lexus wins. They tend to be built very very well and i've heard of very few problems with them. Only problem is that they tend to be the most boring cars on the road. Their almost all based off of the Camry/Corolla.

The G35 is the only car that I would ever consider next to the BMW 3-series. Pretty good styling, great engine, good handling. Its interior is only so so. However, this is the only Infiniti that I would ever consider at the moment. The rest arn't considered to be very good cars.

Acura is a great sub-company that would be even better is they would make more RWD cars. The TL, TSX, and the RSX would smash every car in their respective classes if they had anything but FWD. TSX and RSX are alot of fun, and the TL is very powerful (but handles like an accord). Im looking forward to the next generation NSX and hope they decide to do something with the RL.

Lexus is definitely last, but I'm torn between Infinity and Acura. I love the Infinity G35 Coupe, but I'm more familiar with Honda and know Acura's are good quality machines, so I don't know...

Re: Infinity Vs Acura vs Lexus

I prefer Infiniti. They have some unique styling and good performance going for them. I'd almost say they were the BMW/Audi of the three. Very performance oriented. They stand out more. The upcoming M35/45 will help strenghten the lineup, and the coupe and convertible variants could bring in customers who would otherwise go for an MB CLK or a BMW 6-series.

Lexus and Acura are a bit boring to me, for different reasons.

Lexus is part of Toyota, and in the US, Toyota=boring. So Lexus is already a bit boring by default. Their luxury appointments are great, and are probably the best of the three. Their hybrids should be interesting to see. Lexus has some so-so performers though, and they are kind of like missed opportunities. It's sad, because from looking at Toyota's sports car glory days in the 80s-90s, you know they can do much better.
The 2nd SC should have been a performance flagship, a nice luxury sports car. Perhaps a serious MB CLK competitor. Instead, the SC430 is a folding hardtop convertible with soap bar styling. A little more tuning of the 1UZFE V8 to a little over 300hp and a manual(the SC is currently auto only, right??) would help.
The IS300 was based on the Japanese market Altezza, which used a rev-happy 3SGE BEAMS 4-banger and a 6-speed transmission. It was praised for excellent handling and balance. The IS300 came with a heavier I6, the 2JZGE, which offered only a little more power than the 3SGE and did no favors for the IS in terms of handling. An automatic was the only transmission available at first, which only made things worse. The manual offered later helped a bit, but the damage was already done. The next generation car, with a V6 should be much better.
The ES300 is much too weak for it's segment, and needs more power, if only to look like it is keeping up with the competition. Hopefully an ES330 with the bigger 3.3L version of the 1MZFE V6 will be available soon.
The LS430 is a bank vault of a car, even if it does look too much like an MB S-class.
The RX330 is nice, but looks a bit odd compared to the previous gen.
The GS430 is pretty much the performance flagship of the lineup, as least in my opinion. The repalcement should be good.
The GX/LX450s aren't bad at all for rebadged Land Cruisers.

As far as Acura goes, there isn't enough to distinguish them from Honda. Acura needs to look at what other luxury brands are doing. Other luxury brands try not to have any 4-bangers or fwd, and if they do, it's only on the lowest level. In Acura, half the lineup is fwd, and you have to get a TL just to keep from having a 4-banger.
The CL is dead, so that means buyers looking for a sporty Acura that costs less than $90k are either stuck with an RSX or looking elsewhere. The RSX is pretty good.
The MDX is okay, too.
The 2005 2nd gen RL was about 4 years overdue, and doesn't really fit into the lineup in terms of styling. The rest of the lineup has pretty edgy and angular body lines, while the RL is too curved, looking like a Cadillac Catera.
The NSX is a great car, but a change is likewise overdue. When engineers go to the point of replacing the leather shift boot with mesh to save a few grams in the Type R because there's really nothing else to do, you know it's time for a change.
The TSX sedan is a cop out, basically a European Accord badged as an Acura. The orignal idea called for an S2000-based sedan, which apparently seemed a bit too exciting to be produced.

Someones been watching Top Gear. But I'll agree you know your stuff. Either way, I agree that no one wants to buy a FWD Luxury Sedan, but Acura is stubborn with their FF's.

But I wouldnt consider Toyota boring, and you cant discredit their luxury devision because of a lack of sports cars in their line up. I dont know if you keep up with the upcoming lines but many a Lexus will soon feature hybrid electrical engines powering the front wheels getting amazing gas milage and very respectable HP #'s.

Also, although it wont be very affordable, the Volta is definately a promising supercar.
