96 jetta CEL...?

hi, i have a 96 jetta gls and i just got through putting a new MAF sensor, and new plugs, rotor, cap, and really cleaned up the throttle body, and air hoses...ect. the car idles great and runs good, the only problem is that there is this bucking i get when i hit the gas, but at higher speeds its fine. also the check engine light is on and when i got the codes read it was code P1582. so if anybody can help it would be great. thank you.

Re: 96 jetta CEL...?

1582 can be caused by a multitude of reasons. VW starts with checking oil dilution then moves on to wiring between throttle valve & ECM, intake (vacuum) & exhaust leaks, fuel pressure, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator & injector problems, EVAP canister purge solenoid, & engine compression. If all pass then they reccomend replacing the throttle valve control module.

Angry

well i have not checked all that but as far as the fuel, the pump just got replaced about a year ago. the weird thing is, is that after i did all that work, i had the codes cleared and the CEL went off and staid off for about 3 days. and then with the AC on while i was driving the car started to sputter and the the CEL came on. it was flashing for a few min. but then it staid on. anyways im going back to see what feakin code it is now...

Bosch,

How do you check all that stuff? I changed my oil. By throttle valve do you mean throttle body? Where is the throttle valve control Module?

Please advise,

Thanks

Re: 96 jetta CEL...?

I would only go through all that if you've already tried the MAF.
