Eeeek, something went wrong =(

I went racing tonight with a few of my buddies. The first race was me and my friend's civic, he was bone stock except exhaust. FYI, I beat him by about 10 car lengths in my 97' RS =D

ANYWAYS, to the point, when I started slowing down after the finish line I noticed that my steering wheel was getting really hard to move. I was able to pull over to the side of the road, but I literally had to get on top of the wheel to turn it! I immediately thought something went wrong with my power steering.

So we looked under the hood and I had plenty of PS fluid, and there weren't any fluids leaking in the engine compartment (at least that were visible). We also noticed that the belt right next to the PS fluid wasn't even turning when I had the car on... My friends say that the pump is probably messed up, and that I'll have to replace it to get back the power steering. However, I know you guys really know your sht about DSMs and I want your advice on what happened and how to fix it. Oh yea, and the only mods I have right now are a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust, and lowering springs. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Anything else go wrong? Like all your warning lights popping on at the same time? lights struggling to stay on? Kinda sounds like when my crank pully fell apart...

Sounds like you just need a new ps pump.

No rattlesnake, my warning lights didn't come on and they weren't struggling to stay on.

Anyways, if it is the ps pump, will I be able to install it myself?
