Re: A simple Question (Spare Tire Mount)

what year is your truck?(old bodystyle or new)? did you look in the owners manual? sometimes the spare winch siezes up and you need to soak it down with wd-40 or the equivalent and pry down on the tire while cranking it counterclockwise.

Its 95 GMC SIERRA Stepside. The old style. I bought the truck used and never have seen the winch tool, nor did I ask where it was. Shame on Me!

Re: A simple Question (Spare Tire Mount)

do you have all the jack tools?? you need the one that looks like it has a screwdriver tip on the end and a tire socket on the other end and the ratchet which fits over it, stick the screwdriver end in the whole next to the license plate and start cranking. there might be rocks and other crap jamned in the tube so you may have to pop it off.
good luck
