Unhappy Windshield Wiper Help

I installed a painless wiring harness and wiper switch in my 1987 S-10 Blazer. I can't get the wipers to work. There is a four (4) pin connector on the wiper motor, but I don't know which one is for the low speed or high speed. They won't even turn on.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Windshield Wiper Help

I don't know for sure if your blazer is new enought, but alot of chevy trucks have problems with the wipers and most of the time it isn't the motor. There is a computer board under the hood and the wiring comes loose and doesn't always make connection. Try looking there.

check your ground, to find out what pin is what here is what you do: first the wiper motor is a sieries motor so the only way to change the speed is change the voltage, still with me? take a volt meter and check the voltage to ground on each pin. Now you said the conection is 4 pin, is that on the motor? ( if it is chevy needs to take some basic rotating machine classes) and I say that with a love for chey. most of the time the voltage is droped in an other component away from the motor, but maybe not in this case. just do a voltage check and let me know if you have any power at all in the harness. the other option they would have to change the speed of the motor is subtract windings from it, in this case all pins would show 12 volts. the most important thing is to ensure you have power at the end of th harness
