Best used car under $7000

I know you're probably sick of these threads but I seriously need some help and I thought I'd bring this up here where I might get some decent answers.

I'm looking for a car for under $7,000 used

Requirements
Newer than 1995
Compact or Mid-Sized (Under 190 inches long and 105 inches wide)
At least 170hp
Black Leather interior
Reliable and Cheap upkeep
Good gas milage
Nice handling for a car in this class

Things I would like
Foglights
Motorized Sunroof
Large Trunk
Cruise Control
ABS
Something a bit sporty with nice lines

Cars I'm reviewing so far are the Nissan Maxima, the Buick Regal, and the Mazda Millenia. But I find it's so hard to find exactly where I want especially up in the NW. Perhaps you might have some buying and searching tips as well?

Any help would be great, thanks

You could also look at thing like the Acura (legend, integra, etc.) or Honda.

Re: Best used car under $7000

looks like you kind of want a four-door so i would say look at a nissan sentra. they are a nice sporty sedan.

p.s. must resist saying 300zx

Jetta/Pasat GLX with the vr6 engine. Those vw engineers knew what they were doing with this engine. The vw models ending in 98 all had the boxier type style to them but they are good cars and i think what ur looking for. The engine is rated with 178 hp with plenty of torque.

How about an Audi A4 1996? Leather, turbo engine 180 h.p, nice lines...

I think the older 3 Series are a bit more reliable than the A4's, but you're gonna have trouble getting 170 bhp out of them.

Re: Best used car under $7000

lol, the older 3 series? Hmm... since 1983 the 325i has left the factory with at least 171 bhp. So yeah, you're wrong.

PS in '92 a new engine was used which provided 192 bhp. That was the first year of the e36.

You do not want a vw or an audi unless you are prepared to spend some money fixing the oil leaks and other problems it will definately have. A better choice for reliability would be a nissan maxima but in that price range you would be looking at either 96 or possible 97 model. Or a toyota camry 4 cyl. with leather which you could find as new as 98 in that price range.
