Re: taking out speaker

the middle speaker on the driver side??? you mean in the door? or the sail panel? i think thats what your talking about. the one right behind your head??? the wiring should have a plug on it, with a single tab release, just press the tab down and pull the connector off. im a chevy tech, so if you need help, or instructions on gettin in there just gimmi a holler, and ill do what i can.

Re: taking out speaker

to put in a new one, aftermarket, i think you need to buy a GM kit that has the adapter plug.

Re: taking out speaker

If its a monsoon system...I am almost positive that speaker is a small dvc subwoofer. That speaker IS cross'd to receive only low frequencies.

Re: taking out speaker

It was the same way in my '96 Delco Bose, only lows from both those speakers.

Re: taking out speaker

wasnt that one in the trunk????? i thought they had 4in in the doors, 4in in the sails, and the subs in the back... and a set of 4in in the cargo area. so the middle would be the sail panel right????

Re: taking out speaker

My delco bose had 6.5" all around, the rear two dedicated to Bass, while the one in the trunk sem to be a loud all around speaker, also 6.5".

Re: taking out speaker

I have a 99 and the replacement/aftermarket speakers are as follows. Front door is 6 3/4", sail panel 6 3/4" and finally the hatch area speakers are 4". In a monsoon setup the speakers are also supposedly using crossovers along with factory amplification. The front door and hatch area speakers are to receive mid and highs and the sail panel speakers are used for lows.
