Gas miles per gallon computation on Avalon 2003

Is there anyway to reprogram the computer regarding gas mileage where the computer resets after each fillup? I would like to reset the computer when I want/need. I know that there are two areas of gas milege computation and both only use the since most current fill up or since the last stop as the basis of computation. I would like to use cumulative say for the last month or 6 months.

I thought that all Toyota vehicles with digital Odometer have the trip-odometer that you can set, and reset whenever you wish by pushing the button and holding it in the instrument cluster...but maybe that's not the case here...

Um, check his profile, that will tell you why he wants the ECU to do all the work. Hes a government worker, and mostly people in government are lazy underacheivers.
