1995 Gramd Am 2.3l Quad 4 DOHC WONT START AT TIMES

I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me why my grand am will not start sometimes. The car runs great when it wants to but at times you will go out to start it and it just cranks over no firing. If you leave and come back maybe 30 minutes to an hour later it will start right up. When it does start it runs kind of poor to begin with (you push the gas and it kind of dies down and goes nowhere) this last for about 10 seconds then it is fine. I have checked the ignition, coils, coil housing, plugs I am stumped. Someone told me that it is possible that the computer has gone bad. I just want some more opinions before I spend 100 bucks on a computer.

my 94 grand am se does the same thing, its like the car is not all the way in park or something because it will not turn over, you turn the key and absolutely nothing will happen, 20 - 30 minutes later it will start up, but be kinda sluggish, then it will run fine. i have never figured out why

Its your spark plugs, mine was hesitant on start and sluggish when start driving because my car was starting and moving on 3 cylenders until I got going then then the forth cyl. kicked in and away I went. SPARK PLUGS! buy good ones!

Re: 1995 Gramd Am 2.3l Quad 4 DOHC WONT START AT TIMES

yeah maybe thats why its slugish

but thats not why its not turning over

i bet when you turn the key every thing comes on
but the car wont ingage the starter you wont even here the stater turn then you wait and it might work later

well if thats what its doing try this when the car wont start try putting the the shift nob threw all the grears then try to start if that dont work
put the car in N then roll it about a foot dont hit the break then trow it in park as soon as it feels like you hit the break hard turn the key it should start right up if it dose its the N safty switch
