power steering fluid leak
I have a 95 mustang and my power steering fluid is leaking, I can fill it up to proper levels and it will last about a week. Any ideas on how much this might cost to get fixed.
Thanks |

Re: power steering fluid leak
Depends on where its leaking from. Could be as simple at the fill cap has a broken prong, which is very common. Or it could be one of the lines, pressure or return. Take a look, see where it is leaking from.

Re: power steering fluid leak
Lift the dust covers on the rack unit. If there's wetness in there, that's your leak. That's where mine was leaking and that means it has to be replaced. I think I paid about $100 at NAPA for a lifetime warranted rebuilt. Replace the tie rod ends at the same time as you'll need a front end alignment anyway, reagardless.
Otherwise, it could be the hoses or the pump itself. Just check, as already mentioned, to see where it's leaking. LOL |

i had a leak... all it was was
the O-ring on the sending line that runs into the Drive Train or whatever.. The O-Ring was flat as a sheet of paper on one side.. I think its from a Possum. It went under my car and I beleive his head hit my Line.. I say this because this is the night that it started leaking.. Check that..~!!~ |
