truck race

Probably don't get alot of truck race threads on here, lol but I'm gonna post ya one anyways.

My cousin has a 1990 F-250 reg. cab long wheel base with a 351 bored .040 and .410 gears. It's also a 5-spd, and well my truck is the one in the picture and it has a 350, .342 gear and automatic tranny. He knows about how fast my truck (I know it's a truck, so its not gonna be fast compared to a fast car, but for a stock except Flowmaster 4WD truck, it runs pretty good) is and he ain't had his too long and he thinks he can take me, or atleast give me a good run. So (this has been about a month ago I guess) we are shooting pool one night and the pool hall was right beside the 4-lane and he's like you want to hit em a lick, and I siad might as well. So we pull out onto the 4-lane, he's in the fast lane, i'm in the slow lane, we start to get them pretty well side by side (best we could tell from inside the trucks anyways) and so I'm settin there and I ease my foot off the break because it looked like he was a little ahead ofmy truck and he thinks this means go so he takes off. He jumped me out of the hole by 3/4 of a truck before I can get WOT and it took me all the way through 1st gear (I just left it in Drive, so the truck just went through its normal shift point) before my front end got to his front tires (this is about 35-40 mph or so), he's shifting into 3rd and mine goes into 2nd adn I start pulling him and by about 50 mph his front end is at my door and by about 60 mph his front end is at my bumper, and from then on I really started getting out in front and by 85 mph he quit and I was probably about 3 trucks in front (my .342 gear coming in and his .410 fading)

So I was pretty happy, you know it sure is hard to run somebody down when they get the jump on ya! lol, and had we been at a red light, then I would have jumped him by atleast 1/2 a truck and it would have just gotten worse as we got faster. Even when he jumped me during our little race my truck was constantly gaining on his.
