What Year Motor???

From what I have been told, the motor has been replaced with a rebuilt one but it is not from a 87. At least the oil pressure guage was from a newer (90+ I think) and was made for a vehicle with a oil light, I have an oil guage.

How do I tell what year the motor is so I can get parts for it?

As you face the engine, is the O degree timing mark at 12 o'clock or is it at 2 o'clock?
