Blower Motor problem

Hello, I lurked before I decided to post a new thread, hopefully this wasn't already covered somewhere, and I just missed it.

The problem with this 99 Ford taurus is, I believe, the blower motor, but i'm not sure. It's my fiance's car, so, it's not the best of the best, but it works, oh and she's also somehow managed to lose the manual.

When I turn the heat on, or the a/c nothing happens. I mean, I hear something going on when I flip the panel with the a/c and vent and all that (decompression) but when I flip the hi low side, i get nothing. I thought that perhaps it was a fuse for the motor, but for the life of me, I can't find out where it would be. I looked on the fuse panel, and didn't see it. the box under the hood doesn't even have the fuses and relays labled. I guess my question is, could someone tell me perhaps if it would be a fuse, or a relay, and the position of the culprit. I appreciate your time, and it's forum's like these that make the internet so great.

Also, I didn't have any problems with the motor prior to this happening, it worked fine, never went out, I drove it to the store with it on, shut the car off, went in, came back out and started it back up, thinking, "i left the air on hi so it should get cool pretty quick" that's when I realized that it wasn't even coming on

check your blower relay under hood fuse box most likely is bad

I don't know which one to check, but I read somewhere that i couldn't replace the relay to it? That it was some kind of assembly?

When it gets down to it you can replace any single part, just go down to your junkyard if need be, don't let the dealer stiff you. I was told the same thing, had the same problem with a Mercedes SL300 yesterday, they wanted to charge me 500 for a resistor, I just soldiered it and fixed that, can't speak too much on your problem but I'd go to the junkyard before I let the dealer tell me I need a new assembly.

I had an intermittent blower problem, My Blower would not work, I would stop and check all the fuses, then mysteriously it would work again. Finally when it was freezing cold and I had to go on the road again it quit. I checked all my voltages to the motor and it worked, I assumed it was a bad motor. I bought a new one from AutoPalace and when I went under the dash to pull the old one It was full of green water. With suds. I pulled it out, put in the new one which by the way had a drain hole in it. Come to find out, if you go to a selve serve carwash or a touchless car wash I found water dripping. Apparently The pressure of the carwash forces water through the cabin air filter and into the blower motor causing a short. The new aftermarket motor took in to account the bad engineering from Ford. Everytime I go to the car wash I watch the water pour in.

The fuse panel under the hood is called the battery junction box. There is a fuse and a realy inside. Fuse number 11 is the blower motor relay maxi fuse. It is a 40 amp fuse. The relay is position number 23 in the same fuse box. If both are good then check for power at the motor connector wiring under the passenger dash. If you have power there you need a motor.
