Imports vs. Domestics

This post may be irrelivant - but I've seen so much flaming recently I can't help it. I don't want to dislike this place, I used to love so much being here. But sometimes the amount of flaming taking place isn't what I'd call a friendly forum.

God DAYUM there is a fair bit of flaming in this thread! Not as bad as what I've seen in the Honda/Acura forum recently. This place is getting terrible - everyone bitching at everyone. I don't care if a stock B16A doesn't have as much power as other stock engines, it's a hell of a good four banger, with enough power to upset some fair cars.

I also don't give a flying fuck if the same mods done to a domestic will produce more horsepower than mods done to a Japanese car. Seriously, who gives a shit?!? I personally have a love affair with Hondas, and yeah, I love Civics, I don't care if they aren't fast in comparison with some others!! I'd love to do one up and spank some other guys in different cars... who have just had the shit scared out of them because a Civic just thrashed them. I don't really give a toss if similar mods done to the other car could beat the Civic, that's their choice.

In my humble opinion, the Civic is a nice looking and modestly performing car, that responds nicely to modification and can surprise some higher specced cars - even turbos and V8's. I personally chose the Honda NSX, but would have preferred a Honda S2000 or Integra Type R.

The whole point to this post is - don't hurt someone because of what they choose to drive, or choose to make faster. That's their choice, their individuality and tastes coming into play. Good on them! If we all got together and decided that a certain car had the best bang for buck stock, and responded the best to modifications with an acceptable cost, then many people would own this car, in varying states of modification.
Where's the fun in that? I love the challenge of Honda vs. a turbo'd car, or Nissan vs. Subaru. It's all up to your taste in car. If you love Nissans and do yours up to xxx horsepower, good on ya. Numbers are impressive, but you gotta love what you buy, and do it up for the love of the car, not because you're getting numbers that will make people say "Viper GTS-R will respond better to mods".

Seriously... I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't give a rat's ass if there are cars that'll whip my Honda - good on ya, do ya feel big now?!? I don't have a modded Honda, sure, so many people will kick my sorry arse. Whoopty shit! When I get my choice Honda and have a tinker with it, I'll be surprising a fair amount of people - even if I still get beat occasionally. I'll still be happy with my car, and proud of it.
