96 Transmission
My sister has a 96 Contour. The other day the transmission gave out. The repair shop wanted 3500$ to replace it with a used one (the car's not worth that). Is that about the right price or are they trying to take us for a ride?

wow, bend over. Bondurant Racing School was selling brand new prepped mtx-75's with zetec final drives for $700! Im assuming your sisters car is a CD4E automatic correct? May want to look into getting a used trans depending on which tranny is it.

Thanks for the responses. We decided we will hit the junk yards in search of a working tranny. My dad's got a friend who will install it for cheap.
