Smile Gears

Sometimes my gears grind too. Of course mine is an 84 and the clutch may b wearing out. Sometimes you miss gears, and sometimes u need to double clutch. For example, when downshifting from a higher gear u can puch in the clutch and rev up the engine so it matches the gear speed and then shift and it wont be rough. As far as just simple shifting goes, mine occasionally does that, but I have never changed the oil in the tranny, and after 20 years it tends to break down. Don' t think that thick oil will solve ur problem though. The thicker the oil is the more roughly the car shifts. That's my oppinion anyway. Good Luck!

Re: Tranny &Color

could be worn clutch, could be bad synchros, could be a f***ed up tranny from too much abuse ::cough:ower-shifting::cough::
