Smile curiousity??Front wheel drive engine work in Camaro? 2.8 v6

Just out of curiousity will a 86 Pontiac 6000 engine work in a 1988 camaro. Is it even possible. Another question? If it will how do you move the engine mounts that are on the frame of the car. It doesn't look like an easy job?

The engine mounts should unbolt...

You could try and lower the engine in to see if you have any clearance problems. I would suggest a 305 or 350 instead.

engine brackets

Well the engine fits and everything, but the problem we are having are the mounts. We found the mounts but we have to move the brackets on the frame. Do we have to unbolt the a-arm to get to the bolts? They are in a pretty much impossible spot to get to. You can get to the top bolt but you have to hold the nut at the bottom and it's impossible to get anything up there to hold the nut. Let alone to try and put one back on? Was just wondering if anyone would know an easier way then unbolting the a-arm. It's only a 2.8 v6, but we just want to try and see if it possible.

I'm not turning it into a front wheel drive, just the engine! A friend bet us we couldn't do it so were trying to figure out if we can. The engine bolts right up, the only problem we were having were the motor mounts. Anyways, it should be going this afternoon, hopefully, so we'll post and let you know if it worked out.

Umm yeah..Well the easiest way to get that pain in the ass bolt off is with an air ratchet, or air inpact wrench. That's what I'd do.
