Re: Newbie to tegy's

An ls/vtec turbo would be cool. If you do go FI then I would suggest turbo over supercharger.

Now for constructive advice. A turbo LS would be a great choice IMHO. The LS will be cheaper and easier to attain and also easier and cheaper to boost. But if you want a fast car and don't have a huge wallet and don't want to use FI then the LS is not for you. The LS in N/A forum can be fast but it will take more money than the GSR, alot more. But if boost is your game then the LS will do just fine

Yea I don't know what I was thinking, 14 posts mean you posses enough knowledge to go around and call people newbies even though under your username it says "AF Newbie" LOL. BreakerZero0 don't take this personal but we would like to keep non-constructive posts to yourself. If you don't have anything constructive or complimentive to say then don't reply please.

My Mechanic and I were talking yesterday and he says he had a supercharger on his Teg and it worked great... You don't have to re-route oil lines and shit and you get cold air into the engine not re-routed warm air... plus I can run a 7 PSI supercharger with out building my engine first so I can have about 240 HP (rough guess) and not kill my engine till I can build it...

Actually your mechanic is wrong, superchargers have alot of friction and thus generate heat. They will not be blowing cold air by and means. Also a turbo does not redirect hot air. Where did you get that from? The air that the turbo pushes out gets the heat from the turbo housing, but that is why you use a intercooler, can't use a intercooler with a JRSC. Also the SC will put extra strain on you front crankshaft bearings, a turbo won't put any extra strain of that nature on anything. Turbo will always come out on top in small displacement motors. Also tell me why you would want to use something that takes away hp to make hp rather than something that is much more efficent and just makes hp? But I guess to each his own.

With turbo you can run up to 12 psi on stock internals properly tuned and be fine.If you are ruinning an ls motor that is. If you have the vtec you can only run about 8 psi. also I could be wrong, but only 7psi isn't going to get you up to 240hp, maybe 11-12 psi.

Re: Newbie to tegy's

Yea actually 7 psi on a JRSC might get you in the 165ish whp range on an ls an 180ish whp range on a gsr.
