Boost gauge stops working !
Hey all ... To day is an annoying day for me ... well ... I drove the car to day and it was fine ... doing 9 psi and 24 to 26 on vaumn ... then ... I got in my car the 2nd time for the day to pick up my friend ... then ... I noticed there was something very wrong with my boost gauge readings ... on idle ... i was doing like 2 vacumn and when rolling doing 4 on vaumn ... hmmmmm strange ! so ... I read the boost reading ... hmmm doing 4 to 5 psi ... (I normally do 9) now ... this is strange ... my boost gauge used to react really fast as in i touch my pedal and it would move up ... amount of foot put down .... but now ... when i mrolling lets say im doing 4 vamun ... -_- then i put my foot down a little ... no difference ... ... ... ... ... still no difference .... ... ... ... ... ... still no difference ... then when I go about 3500-4500 rpm ... it goes up to 5 ... I dont feel a heap of difference in performance .... any one suggest wat might be wrong with my boost gauge ? could it possibly be the boost gauge it self ? thats broken ? but it was fine in the morning today .... really strange ... Im sort of a newbie with cars .... if you know wat might be wrong with my boost gauge readings ... could you right me a detailed reply for me so I can check it out ? thx all ...
really appreciate it |

Well there are a few things you can check ...
1. All the fittings (ie. the one on the back of the boost gauge and the one on the inlet manifold) are nice and tight. 2. That there are no creases in the vaccum line leading to the gauge, like where it has twisted or folded over at some stage. 3. That there aren't any holes in the vaccum line, might be a bit hard to find. Best thing to do would be to "borrow" another boost gauge, preferably the same type, and swap it with the one that's playing up. Then you should be able to narrow it down to just a faulty gauge, or vaccum line. (ie. if the readings stay the same then it probably isn't the gauge) Chris :ylsuper
