I have not seen any of the angel eyes for the jetta, fact is the jetta from the movie had a golf hood, grille and light assembly. They will swap given you swap the hood and the grille. Are your lights single or dual beam? If they are dual beam (which they probably aren't) they will swap right out. However, to convert from single to dual beam requires alternate wiring, pretty complex. If you want some ideas, go to www.amimotorsports.com/main.htm and look for headlights. I did the same thing to my 94, looks killer.

I did a dual headlight swap on my '95 Jetta last summer. Trust me, it you are not mechanically inclined, it is not the swap for you.
First of all, the dual round headlights are only made in Europe. Since Euro-spec VW's are different than US-spec in several ways, the lights do not mount the same way. When I installed the lights, I had to cut out a chunk on the radiator support (about 2" of a chunk being cut 1/4" away from the fragile radiator coil!) for the lights to even fit into the US-spec headlight hole. If that wasn't enough cutting, I also had to cut up the brand new headlights to make them fit into the freshly cut holes, and they are not cheap! Then, the light brackets do not fit between the two specs of jettas, so I fabricated four custom brackets per headlight to get them mounted. Now that the lights are finally mounted into the car, you have to worry about getting them to actually light. Since you have a US-spec Jetta, in is highly unprobable that you have a dual-lamp setup in your car, unles it was done custom. Since the stock system in the US-spec is single-lamp, you will have to cut the stock wiring harness and splice a new wiring harness to make wiring for dual-lamps. After the headlights are wired and installed, you will then need several body modifications to get the hood closed and the grille on. The Euro-spec Jettas (or as they call them; Ventos) use a headlight shape that is almost identical to the US-spec Golfs. Therefore, a Golf hood (stock or aftermarket) and a Golf grille (also stock or aftermarket) are required to have all of the body lines to match and to get the hood closed/grille on. Trust me, there is no way to modify the jetta hood or grille to make them fit, I tried. The stock golf hood and grille line up with the same mounting points as the jetta (this is the only point in the install where everything lines up without modifications). It also takes quite a bit of effort to get those lights centered in the headlight hole, great patience is required. All in all, the final product is great looking, but you need to know what you are doing as far as mechanical, electrical and fabrication skills are concerned. Doing this install on my own, I took about 25 hours to fabricate, wire, adjust, and everything in between, and I am no rookie in the field of fabrication and getting things to fit. I have been doing custom body mods and professional audio systems for years. Good luck if you decide to take on this task, it is worth it, but it does have many great risks. :-)> |
