Question the price of rice

What do you guys think. Do you believe that adding a blowoff valve, turbo timer, one of those big racing tachs, and racing seats turns your car into a rice racer? My friend swear it turns you car towards, to what he calls "the dark side of the force"?

Your friend is entitled to his opinion, but as long as the items being added are functional, then they don't qualify as 'rice racer'

turbo timers and blow off valves, no, because turbo timers cool down your turbos and blow off valves, well, because the stock ones leak lol. Racing seats really wouldnt be considered it, although i wouldnt get them over leather unless i'm really building a drag car, and monster tachs are. There's not point in a monster tach, and that goes for domestic cars too, it just tries to make people think your car is faster then it already is. I haven't seen any reason to have a second tachometer other than looks, and if it serves no purpose, then its just a waste of money and weight.

Blow off valve and turbo timer are a necessity with a turbo car, therefore not even close to rice. I dont know what a racing tach is but since ive never heard of it, chances are its not needed therefore probably could be considered rice. Racing seats are basically your choice of style, although its mainly for looks since you probably wont ever go fast enough to actually need all that restraint.

You've never seen A civic or something with a giant Tach mounted on the A-frame or on the dash board that are like 4-6" and sometimes have Shift Lights.....once you see one you cant miss it, I agree HotShot...definetely a waste

Re: the price of rice

they use them so you don't have to look down to shift, a light turns on and you shift, its still pretty dang pointless to me
