wheel horsepower?

Ok I've looked and searched all over this forum but couldn't find anyone who posted WHEEL horsepower. Most advertisements in magazines or dealers have the BRAKE horsepower which was measured on just the engine itself. All advertisements say that the 2000 Prelude VTEC has 205 hp, but I think that's the BRAKE horsepower. Does anyone actually have dyno numbers that say the wheel horsepower?

you usually lose 15% of your power by the time it gets to the wheels, depending on your drivetrain.

so lets say...205hp lude, minus 15% . so you should be putting around 175 to the wheels.

Re: wheel horsepower?

The 2000 prelude(h22) has 200hp unless your in canada where for some reason their preludes have 205hp.

Re: wheel horsepower?

I still don't get where people are getting this 205hp. The h22 rates at 200hp to the flywheel. Can you send me a few pictures of those ads?

Signal is right, but 175whp is still pretty generous. Most people who take their Preludes to a dyno get high 160's, and Si's usually only 130 to the wheels.

Nothing, you're taking it the wrong way.

His post was edited by a mod, and the warning is to him, not us.

There are no 205hp stock Preludes in Canada, they came the same as the USDM versions. I'm in Canada for your info.

So how would you think a Sentra SE-R automatic would stack up against a Prelude VTEC automatic? The lude has exhaust, intake, crank pulley, and a SAFCII. The SER has intake, exhaust, header, and SAFCII and possibly LSD and Balance shaft removed.
