Question Wheel Suggestion for '01 Accord Cpe V6?

i just got into a '01 Accord V6 Cpe and am looking to replace the stock 16's with new wheels and tires. does anyone have any suggestions on what size or style of wheel/tire will look/ride best. the car is not lowered, and as of now, i don't have any plans to do so.

Well in my opinion if you buy nice rims, it isn't going to look good unless you drop. I put 17 on my teg, and they just amplified the crappy weel gap, and looked lame. If you do get rims though, 17's look nice on accords. I have seen 18's that look good to, but I would say stick with the 17's. Try looking on ebay too. les schwab quoted me $1300+ for my weel and tire set up, then I looked on ebay, and found the exact same rims with a a set of tires on them mounted and balanced brand new for $550, $670 shipped. Great deals on ebay. If you do decide to get bigger rims with some low profile tires I strongly suggest lowering you car at least 1''. I made the mistake of not, and for 6 months I hated the look of my car untill I could afford some tein ss coils. That is just my opinion though, you may not mind the gap as much. good luck!

thanks for posting. i would tend to agree -- swapping out the stock wheels for 17's with low-pro tires would definitely accentuate the wheelwell gap. but let's say i do lower... 17's or 18's? i'm told that 18's may look better, but the ride quality is poor. any insight?

Well 18's do look good, but they will be more bumpy than 17's. When i swapped my 14's for 17 the ride got really bumpy. I have a friend with 17's and they look really nice on his accord, he is planning on dropping his car this month though because of the gap. Also look at price. 17's will cost less than 18's and the tires will be less expensive if you go with 17's as well. I guess it is up to you. i think that 17's look reall good, and you wouldn't need to go any bigger.

also keep in mind the bigger the weel you buy, the less torque you will have. Just a little fyi. It doesn't make that much diffence, if you do bump up to 18's you will feel a little less torque at the weels due to the larger rim.
