Good Component speakers

I did a search but could not find what I was looking for. What do you guys think are the best 5 1/4 Component speakers on the market? I want crisp highs nice smooth mids maybe a little bass but thats what the 2 12's are for. The ones I have been looking at are the Infinity Kappa's, Alpine type R's and Blaupunkt Overdrives but want any suggestions not just these brands. price is not a big deal, I will gladly pay more if the speaker is worth it.

Re: Good Component speakers

from my experience.. i find the highs on the infinity's to be a little harsh.. my alpine type s's sound great for midrange and the highs.. don't do too well on the sub 200 hz range tho.. but that's most likely because i'm just runnin them off my deck's amp.. i haven't heard any blaupunkt speakers... if you're looking for super high quality speakers.. go mb quart

Re: Good Component speakers

Well if you want some of the best speakers out there you have a few choices. Theres brands like Focal which makes some of the best car audio drivers out there. But in all honesty i really comes down to what do your ears like and what all do you really want to spend. If you get a good set of drivers you need a good amp etc to run them. Some other brands to check out for really nice components is the Image Dynamics Chameleons. Check out either site www.focal-america.com and www.imagedynamicsusa.com

my favorites are Focal and Boston Acoutic (pro). I just got a pair of CDT's, so I can't wait to evaluate them.

i'd go with the MB quarts, i have some 6.5 drivers and the highs are super crisp and clear and the bass response is excellent.

If you want top of the line at a price level a little lower than MB Quart or Focal check out Rainbow German Car Audio. I just found out about them in Orlando and was surprised to hear how clear it was. I had the pleasure to install their IQ Line this week and will be ordering more very soon.
If I was you I would look into the Rainbow Sound Line or Dream Line both 5.25" component sets are hand made in Germany.

You can find their info on Google.
