Re: Re: problems on odometer
Your odometer runs off a small electric motor in the dash and it's probably dead or has a loose connection. The 89-98 Chevy pick-ups have the same problem. If you call the dealer they are not going to sell you just the motor you'll have to replace the whole dash (and if they replace the whole dash they will put a sticker in your door jam that says odometer has been replaced at xx,xxx miles not actual)...
I would suggest getting on ebay and find another dash and switch out the motor or the whole dash.

Re: Re: Re: Re: problems on odometer
I don't have any pictures of what the motor looks like. I sold my extra maxima dash I had out of my parts car. Sorry... Not sure if it has a name. Odometer Motor is my guess. The best way to find out what it looks like is to take your dash out and take it apart. Be careful not to over tighten any of the screws when putting it back together, because you can damage the gauges by doing so.

You're right, it's called Odometer Motor. It cost around $200 new from dealer just the part, and it kinda hard too find online, but I found for $70. Thank's a bunch for the tip, it helps me so much. I'll do it sometime this week. |
