3.8L to LS1 swap cost.
I am considering purchasing a complete pullout LS1/6speed combo. Anyone have any idea on what kind of labor bill I can expect to have the swap completed by a shop? My car is a 99 Camaro 3.8L/5speed. Just curious if anyone has paid or know someone who paid to have it done. I know there are many things that could influence the final price either way, just looking for a ballpark figure if anyone has any ideas.

Re: 3.8L to LS1 swap cost.
The engine swap itself would be pretty easy... But the wiring is where you are going to have the labor costs. It would probably be cheaper and easier just to sell the car and buy a Z28 instead. If you want to go through with the swap Street and Performance in Mena, Arkansas does a lot of engine swaps so they might be able to help you. Here's the link...

if your car and the donor car are close to the same year, i'd think the harness would fit the car just as if it came from the factory with a V8. pcm's are the same size i think, and the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder should bolt right up, just a pain gettin it to work. dont know about the motor mounts tho
