r32 rear end on 240sx
okay, plan on doin the r32(gtr/gtst, it dont matter) rear end on my 240sx, mckinney motorsports has done this conversion. now, i think i know what parts i need, trunk, and taillights for starters, is there anything else i need. what do i need to do to make this work?
and for the gtr32 rear seats, what do i need to do to amke this work in my the rear of my 240sx? i have a 92 coupe. i would make another thread for this one, but pointless. |

Well, I think the first question is how much money do you have?
And I hope you got another ride while this one is in the shop. I don't know how hard that would be because the rear panels are part of the frame unlike the front fenders. The bumper and rear valance probably easy enough provided that the Skyline parts fit the same slots/holes etc. This could run into alot of money really quick. You got a link to the Mckinney page or info on where you saw this? |

I agree with Jspec....
whatever happened to people liking cars? if you don't like the car and have to weld different shit on there to make it look different why buy the car in the first place? its like going to someone's grave with a chisel and redesigning their headstone LOL, the 240 is sacred from the honda ricers |

i'm not suure that i'd spend the money to do that either, but i went to the mckinney motorsprot page to check it out and its not too bad with the silvia front end on it.

those are just the tail lights put on there, not THAT bad of a mod, but to put a whole different section from another car onto something is just gay.
if u don't like how it looks why are you buying it? lol just buy the car u want..... |

Re: r32 rear end on 240sx
ah, well that's what i really want on the rear, the taillights. i emailed mckinney and they said 500 for the labor. i can get the gtr taillights for a 150 each, brand new. so that'll be like 800 for the lights and labor. would i need anything else? and to ask yall why im doin this is because motorex is gotta be the biggest ripoff.

Re: r32 rear end on 240sx
spending a ton??? yah right, far cheaper than what ppl pay for an s15 front end conversion. i got all the sites for it cheap, and also im from okinawa, firends over there will be helping out.
maybe to you, it's a ton. i just need some help, that's all. |

i honestly don't think its that bad. and if you have the spare $800 then why not do it. its not really in bad taste. i mean, he could wanna put s2000 taillights on his car.

Re: r32 rear end on 240sx
i used to own a s13 silvia, got tired of lookin at the rear of the damn car. time for something new. i have a damn s13 silvia rear again on my 240, dont like it at all. time for a change. and screw honda and their s2k lights. i hate honda owners, they convert their cars into something they could just goto a car dealer and buy it, it's pathetic. me, on the other hand, is making a damn skyline out of a s13 chassis. i want to go back to okinawa but it's expensive living over there and gettin SOFA status to live there is a long wait. til then, im in the states, skylines are a ripoff, or illegally, and a pain in the ass to legalize. so why not get an s13 chassis and convert the whole thing, r32 gtst is coupe, my 240's coupe, r32 chassis wider by 1in.(correct me if im wrong, maybe 2 in.) and some parts are identical. the engine bay will gladly accept rb20. all of this is cheaper than buying one from motorex. i have seen pics of a r32 gtst front end on a 180sx, could be 240hatch, who cares, same chassis. i know another one who has done this.

isnt it hard to lookat the rear when your driving? ive owned my shar of s14' and i still love my tails... Quote:
and you think you have a different mindset than a honda owner?...dont think so. youll never convert your s13 into a skyline..ever.. the day you turn your 13 into a 32 is the day i turn my 14 into a vw bug
