Re: is this legit? (I doubt it is)

Ok, I suppose I should go ahead and say it. It would be in your best interest to leave eBay alone for modding a car. The majority of the products on eBay are cheap, yes, but they also are crap. Most claim gains that are unrealistic, the product quality is sub-par, and I highly doubt any of them have done any product testing or know what the hell they're talking about. If you want quality products that don't destroy your engine, be prepared to pay for it. Good products cost more than crap cheap ones. You'll be doing yourself a favor by saving up and taking your time with the car and doing it right.

Now, as far as the eBay mod goes, read the auction and you'll know yourself it's crap. Fits the Accord or the Del Sol? Last time I checked they had different motors and ECU's. Up to 20hp by replacing a sensor? Unlikely. Putting a cold air intake with do the same thing as this "sensor" telling your ECU you're getting "colder air", which is a myth anyway. The cold air intake frees up about 2hp-3hp. You can remove your resonator and get almost the exact same results for free.

dont, worry i wasnt as ignorant to truly belive the fact it would give me 20hp, it just seemed funny how they could make such out there claims on something, i guess ebay cant really regulate anything.

No sweat, man. eBay doesn't regulate as well as they'd like so the result is people selling shady items.

Most of those "performance chips" just make your motor run rich and advance your timing anyway. Not good for the motor unless you have a need for increased fuel delivery, like said turbo or perhaps a nitrous system.

yeah leave your fuel and timing alone unless you know exactly what your doing and why !! stay away from random products of this nature as stated ! altho the Venom400 modules do work good for a daily street car and do give a bit of power to the road. and some things on ebay are ok to buy IE: name brand items that are new in the box or used by a fellow scenster for a cheap price..but stay away from random selelrs that just sell off the wall products or no name brands

oh yeah and i think when people say " mai " is super gay get a slap

All that crappy little thing does is fool the computer into believing that denser air is coming into the intake manifold than actually is... this in turn causes more fuel to be injected (air that's more dense requires more fuel to burn properly because once the air gets hot it expands... therefore, proper air/fuel mix requires more fuel.)

In otherwords, it causes your engine to run rich. And for some odd reason, some people think that extra fuel in the mix creates more power, but it DOESN'T.

This mod is CRAP... at $10, it's over priced crap too... I could give you instructions on how to make the same thing for about $2... but that's only if you wanted to be an idiot like whoever buys that crappy ass mod/chip.
