Re: shift boot

twist the shift knob off and then the leather boot should come off easily, I think www.vr4stealth.com has detailed instructions if you search his page. Mine was a bitch to get off because there was SO much locktight on the shift knob. I had to wrap a towel around it and then use vice grips. Good luck

As far as the cd changer, I wish I had more advice, but I had an aftermarket one in when I bought my vr4. Have you tried more than those 2 cds, if they are clean, then it might be your laser or it could be something else. Wish I knew more about the stock system. Sorry

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.

Question 1)Twist off the shift knob, pop out the square frame that the shift boot fits into. The base of the shift boot will be held on to the frame by four pieces, just pull the shift boot off of those and the shift boot is free. I would recommend a mobo leathers shift boot, its like 34$ shipped for a real leather shift boot that won't peel in the sun like the stock piece of shit.

Question 2)Flip the CDs upside down as I stated in the other thread
