Have you thought about a ls/v-tec conversion. With that you will be faster than a gsr. Try www.mahdavimotorsports.com for parts and prices. If it was me i would get some stronger rods and maybe some JE 11:1 compression pistons while you are at it.:licker:

Talking Try LS/VTEC

LS VTEC is better than a GSR. I've heard it giving 196 hp and around 150 lb-ft of torque. The whole process should cost around $1300, but well worth it.

LS/VTEC giving 196 wheel hp?!?!

hahaha

It's not much larger than a 1797cc B18C block (less than 100cc larger)

Plus..even if you used the B18C5 head you wouldn't have the 167hp to the wheels that it has.

Because unless you swap out the pistons you retain the stock 9.something:1 compression ratio compared to the USDM Integra R (B18C5) 10.6:1. Plus..you'd have to buy a block girdle to keep the B18B1 block stable at higher-than-normal RPM.

Plus..the B18B1 block lacks oil squirters. This is somewhat dangerous seeing as how the pistons and rods lack the cooling properties of oil squirters.

I'm a big fan of CRVTEC..but not of the LS/VTEC.

Go for the Prelude.
I mean..if you have the chance get a Lude. Or a GSR or Type-R Integra...

Like...I like Tegs but a Prelude or an LS? Definetly the Lude.

peace

Actually boi i am confident that w/ a ls block, ITR head milled .30 on the bottom would be putting 167 to the wheels, but that's w/ the ITR I/M, t-body, cams, valvetrain, ECU, headers and all the exhaust stuff that you would get w/ a full top end ITR swap. But I'd go for the Prelude.

Edit: Good mentioning of the block girdle, z10 engineering one will set you back a pretty penny, plus oil squirters wouln't be essential if you replace the stock oil pump w/ that of an ITR.

hell yeah man, ls vtech. drop the head from the gsr on it and turbo the shit out of it. if the ls engine is kinda old you might want to get a rebuild..thats what i did..i almost hit 300hp.

its sick. i didnt believe it would work when i heard about it either.
ive heard of kids running a quarter in 8seconds flat.

try it

Bahaha, first you spelled VTEC wrong VTECH is a phone. And for high HP turbo appplications your will probable be safer w/ the LS head do to the increased compression of the GSR head. You almost hit 300hp? What's your setup then? Kids running the 1/4 mile in 8 seconds flat? that's a big pile or horseshit. Maybe you don't know how fast 8 seconds is.

HybridDC2 - I wasn't saying that 196hp All-Motor is not attainable.
I was saying that a simple LS/VTEC with out head milling and such (Travis LoL) couldn't make that.

You see what I'm saying?

Like..you get a B18B1 motor. Add a B18C5 head (with neccesarry modification to allow the VTEC head onto the non-VTEC block). You won't get near the ITR's 167hp.

But..if you raise the compression and all that good stuff.

Of course it's attainable.

ok, i mistook you for another idiot. i just see alot of people claiming their lack of reliability and inability to make power when they've never even seen one in the first place. i didn't swap out my pistons when i had mine done almost 3 years ago but it still pulls hard, and still NO leaks. i might not be putting down the same hp as a stock gsr but i havent lost to one either. which is right now why i could care less about the extra 1300 rpm's of a gsr or the freakin oil squirters.

I understand where you're coming from....way to many idiots around here and I'm not playing.
But..the oil squirters are what I stress. Because my friend (200SX SE-R) blew up his motor a while back because of oil starvation. If he had oil squirters - that wouldn't have happened.

O yeah...I have a friend who had LS/VTEC. It's a somewhat complicated procedure that if done right..can introduce Mr. Valve to Ms. Piston

But..dont correctly LS/VTEC can provide a good motor.

the se-r has both a bigger bore and a longer stroke than my motor so i can see more stress on the con rods. maybe that and he drives it like a maniac and doesnt change his oil often. but realistically for me i wont need to rev past 8 when my motor is done anyway so i still could care less about oil squirters.
