Fuel economy - '97/'98 Taurus?

How heavy on gas are 97/98 Tauruses? I think there are two 3.0L engines; Vulcan and I can't remember the name of the other one. Are they both guzzlers? I've seen a few for sale at a local dealership in good condition for a good price, but I'm scared off by the low consumption that I *presume* they have.

Thanks

Re: Fuel economy - '97/'98 Taurus?

I have the other one the Duratec. 50 more poneys then the vulcan. I get not the best of gas but it's not bad either. about 17 in the city and 20 on the highway. that is when i am not running the piss out of it. Then i get about 15 overall.
