I have a 1963 Impala with a 350 Powergluide V-8. Say I'm at a complete stop and if I hit the gas hard(pedal all the way down) the engine makes a "pop" noise and the car will stall. Does anyone know why its doing this!!!!!??? I think I have a carburator problem. My neighbor said he thinks that I have a blown Power Valve. and another thing that my be the cause of this is that I do not have a kickdown on my engine. PLEASE HELP!!!!!! THNKS!!!!!!

How many miles on the engine? The only effect of a missing kick down will be that your car will feel sluggish when you try to pass on the freeway or if you smash the gas pedal. |

Re: 350 Engine Problem*****
make sure the accelerator pump in the carb is working, with the engine off if you open the throttle valve all the way it should spray fuel out. do you have a Holley carb?? if not you probably don't have a powervalve.
