SRT-4 Question

Thinking about buying a 04' SRT-4, I have been reading about stage one this and stage two that. what the hell are they talking about? How much does it cost, can I buy the car with it, or is it aftermarket. Whats the fastest way to make the car go faster.

Re: SRT-4 Question

hummm, we alot of questions... first off you dont need the stage one if your gonna go straight to stage two(s-2),and you can get s-2 with all the extra toys( fule upgrade and a bunch more) for like $1200 right from mopar...first thing i got was a custom 3" turbo back exhaust with high flo cat, intake, turbo timer, dog bone motor mounts, fule pump and rims( but that really doesnt help with speed hehe)then i got the atp upp pipe and hks ssq bov, dc strut bar, agp wastegate, and a few more i cant think of off the top of my head.....all in all i have put about an extra $3000 and i am in the low 13s high 12s...if you have any other questions my user name is my screen name for aim...just im me with other details...~alicia~

Re: Re: SRT-4 Question

absolutly not u do need a stage one to run the stage two. Thats how mopar makes money. i know this because my father has been a dodge tech for more than 30 years.

Re: SRT-4 Question

listen, you dont need stage one to get stage two ,all stage one comes with the ecu and injectors...the stage two kit replaces the stage one or factory ecu and injectors....i know of at least three people that were bone stock and went straight to stage two in my local area...if your dad was told that you need stage one to get stage two then he was misinformed...check the mopar page to see what the stages come with then youll see what i mean, if you cant find it there then go to www.srtforums.com there are about 10,000 people that will tell you that you can go straight to stage two...stage two isnt putting down the #s everyone thought it would ...stage two with toys is only putting down about 250hp...its cheaper to get stage one and the psi fi power paq...thats what im doing...

Re: Re: SRT-4 Question

lol. I think i mis-understood my father to be quite honest. but thank you. Quick question should i get a manual boost control? or should i just save the money to get an Electronic Boost control? i oviously dont wana blow my turbo but i heard u get more horse out of a manual. u just have to do a million test runs to tune it.

Theoretically, I dont see how you could get more horsepower out of an MBC. I would go EBC its safer and easier to tune. Overall boost is boost the main question is keepin A:F ratio in tune. And I concur, stage 1 is not necessary for stage 2. In fact, buying stage 1 and then 2 will leave you with leftover parts. Stage 1 and 2 both come with injectors, but Stage 2's injectors are bigger. But essentially, what you get with Stage 1 is included in Stage 2. The 04 models have the injectors from Stage 1 already, altho i'm hearing the ECU reprogram helps.
