Clutch Relay Disable

How can I disable the clutch relay? I have read many how to's but none have been very discriptive reagarding the 4th gen civic. Any would would be greatly appreciated!!!

Um... to what end? Are you trying to install a cut-off switch or something?

To make it simple, I have two 4g civics, the one that I really never drive (has a thousnds into it so far) I installed an alarm with autostart on it, but I am not sure how to disable the clutch. I want to disable it completely, don't care about ever having it work again... don't really drive it that much anyways.

Well, you won't be driving it at all if you completely disable the clutch switch...

You know what I am saying, I want to disbale the realy so the clutch does not have to be pressed to start the car...

Not sure exactly on your car but on most manual cars you can simply unhook the switch and it will start. The real way would be to use a relay but you stated that you do not wish to have to put your foot on the clutch to start the car. So, a relay would be pointless because you'd still have to press it.

Anyway, just test the wires on the clutch switch. They are usually very simple. Most just have to have the circuit broken. That's why it will work if you simply unplug the switch. Others require a ground to a wire. So, just permanetly ground that wire.

But that is all that I am able to find, "on most cars"

I know there are two wires from the relay (blue, and I think blue white???), I don't remember, it has been a long time since I looked into doing this, I really don't want to just "cut and Splice" wires unless they are going to give me the desired effect, Know what I mean???

Well, I don't know if the circuit is a normally open or normally closed in 4th gens. I will guess and say that it is normally closed like most cars are. Use a regular 12v relay (5 pin). The pins on the relay is numbered as follows and this is where you need to wire it.

#85 (-) trigger from remote start, #87 to 12v+ constant or 12+ when ignition is on, #30 switch side of clutch, #87a to car side of switch.

This will result in the circuit opening when the remote start energizes the system. If you need a (-) to the clutch wire, then take #30 to ground and #87 to the clutch wire.

Hope this helps. Also, I would find the safety nuetral switch. Every manual car I have seen has had one. This is the key to NOT have the car accidently take off. If you don't do that, then you could wire a motion sensor that can monitor the vehile moving. This way if it starts to take off, the sensor will shut it down.
