Damn Oil leaks! Ok guys last month I bought a 1997 GS-T when I was on vacation in Arizona (I live in Minnesota). When I went to pick up the car at the guys house I made a point of looking at his driveway and garage floor because i didn't want another oil leaker (last dsm was a 98 gs...) NO OIL TO BE FOUND ON THIS GUYS FLOOR...brought the car to jiffy lube had the oil changed for the long trip back...got it home, woke up the next morning and a cookie size oil puddle was under the car...
K I brought it to valvoline (figured they look at this shit all day they will most likely know what is leaking, plus i was due for another oil change). anyways they said it was my oil pan gasket and gasket on the oil sendng unit (take off the filter take off the bolt thing then the gasket on the other side of that round metal thing..hope that makes sense ) so i put that gasket sealer around the oil pan and i replaced that filter....its still leaking Not as bad but it still is (and my parents are anal about stupid shit like that so I either have to fix it or park on the road and give up the garage stall) I was wondering what else it could be, it is in the same area as the oil filter (there is a little round goldish thing that has a wire running to it and there was a drip of oil chilling on there...I was messing with some neon on the freeway that thought he was all hot shit with his F&F decals .... after i smoked him I parked in a parking lot to let the turbo cool down popped the hood and say that oil had splattered on top of the timiming belt case...so the leak must be near a belt and the belt is throwing it around....) I know my descriptions suck, but i hope you get the point...anyone know what else could be leaking in that area??

Re: New GS-T problems already...oil
Depending on what your definition of "playing is"
the oil may have blown up there due to the speed you were traveling. I would suggest washing the engine (don't forget to read the instructions on www.vfaq.com BEFORE you wash the engine). Then, with a clean engine you should be able to determine exactly where the leak is.

What kind of gasket sealer did you use.

Re: New GS-T problems already...oil
for the gasket I used a wire brush to take off the crap around the oil pan then I used Permatex Ultra Black Hi-Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker
