I drive my 1996 Taurus everyday, and everyday I put car into reverse, the radio goes out. When I put it back into drive it comes back on. Why?

check your radio wires to make sure all connections are made. you may need a special tool, i know i did

the radio not working in reverse is the first thing to go when your Transmission switch sensor is going out. I know that doesn’t make any sense, but check the thread titled
96 Taurus: I am totally stumped! That should explain a lot.
