Re: Governer for a 95'

I know GXEs do and SEs don't. I can't remember about GLEs though. But the limiter is like 127 or something like that. Do you go that fast often?

Re: Governer for a 95'

gxe's do have governors. SE's & GLE's don't. the reasoning is because the GXE's don't come with tires rated for speed in excess of 130mph as do the higher models.

Re: Governer for a 95'

i don't know. that's strange. did you buy it brand new? if not maybe the first owner got a gxe but had all the SE options installed.

i think my car's governed at 146mph.

Im not sure if the auto SE Maximas had a governor. I think they
cant go as fast if they are automatics. I know our 96 five speed
would get to 120 really fast, but the 98 auto took quite a bit longer.

My 95 SE doesn't have one, but it only goes so fast. Maybe thats why you think your 98 has one.

Yes I'm sure it is an SE. It was bought brand new at the end of 97. It accelerates really fast and just stops at 118mph. The rpms are only at about 3K at that point. This is very strange. It doesn't really bother me though since I don't drive that fast on a regular basis.

I dont think they have a governor then, must just be the automatic
because they seem to get slower around 120.
