back hatch will not open

i can not open my back hatch by remote or by key. took it to dealer and he wanted $380.00 for a new body control module. is there any other way to open the hatch?

It sounds like the hatch is jammed, I doubt a new BCM would fix that!
Does your actuators pop, or do they do nothing?

I had one were the latch wouldn't release and it only needed a new latch, and a door panel that broke trying to get to the latch in the closed position.

There are several issues causing the hatch to bind, adjusting the latch height and the glass alignment cures most of the problems! Adjusting the rubber bumpers is another recommended procedure.

If you hear no clicking when trying the remote it is the dreaded BCM. It was my understanding the BCM had a 80,000 mile warranty on them. CHeck out www.aztekfanclub.com for more information on what the BCM controls.

no the actuators dont pop. there is no sound coming from the solenoids when i push the automatic release and no sound when i try the key
