power shifting .....

my friend was showing me in his g35 coupe how he can shift gears without taking his foot off the gas ... i have done this a couple of times in my gsr and it seems to have more power when i do so ... i have only been driving a stick since august , but i know how to drive ... i was just wondering what effects shifting like this has on your car ?? ...

Bad effects. Doing it once in a while is not that bad but doing it alot will have you needing new synchros and possibly other parts as well. My only advice is that if you are going to do this change your tranny fluid to a racing type fluid that will hold up to the extra heat.
