Anyone know where the "Yoke Spring" is located in the steering gear?
I have a TSB for my car that is dead on with the problem I am having. TSB 01-15-1. It talks about "Steering Wheel Nibble".
It calls for the replacement of the yoke spring. Turns out the stock 25# spring is too soft and doesn't dampen enough. Tells you to install a new 35# spring in its place. The TSB talks about removing the Yoke Cap, removing the spring, installing the new spring, reinstalling the cap, and torquing down the cap. Problem is, I have no idea where the Yoke Cap is. Does anyone know, or have any experience with this before? Does anyone know anyone they could ask! The dealership can't even tell me where the yoke spring is. It isn't listed in my LS workshop books either. Thanks for the help! ...Tim |

Sorry. Mine doesn't nibble...
Once you order the part, I bet it'll be fairly obvious where it goes, though.

I have it
I have the part. It is a $3 spring that is about half the size of a AA battery. Same diameter, half the length.
No idea where it goes, heh. ...Tim |

Re: Anyone know where the "Yoke Spring" is located in the steering gear?
Sounds like something that goes inside the steering column on the cabin side... I think there is a part on my old truck called a turn signal cancelling yoke. It's just under the steering wheel. It's easy to access once I pull the wheel... Try looking in your service book at the steering wheel and multi-function stalk areas...
