SL1 Rear Tires Wearing Out Quick

My 2000 SL1 does not handle well on gravel roads and wet paved roads. I replace the rear tires two months ago, they are now bald!!! Any ideas?

Re: SL1 Rear Tires Wearing Out Quick

first, and i'll say this to everyone, don't go with cheap tires, don't even go with good tire, ONLY get quality top on the line tires. you'll thank yourself for it. last fall me and my buddy got new tires at the same time(mine's an sl2 his is a sc1). i drive mine MUCH harder and faster then he does. i spent $300 for BF goodwrench tires and he spent about $100 for some discount tire. guess who has bald tire and whos tires still look brandspanking new?

but anyway, try to go easy on the gravel, check the tire pressure, the rear brakes may be draging ( you don't drive with the parking brake on do you? ) , or depending on the wear pattern, you may need to get an alinment.

if i remember to i'll post a chart of tire wear patterns in the next few days.
